Manchester City are saddened to learn of the passing of former Chairman and Honorary President Eric Alexander.
The Alexander family’s proud association with the Club stretches back three generations, and Eric took up a role with the City board during the 1960s and he then became Chairman of the Club in 1971, before being succeeded by Peter Swales.
Eric, whose father Albert was also a former Chairman of the Club, remained a director of the club up until the 1980s and latterly held the role of Honorary President.
Eric also played for the Club at youth level before moving into the City boardroom, and he also owned a successful sports business in Manchester.
Everyone at Manchester City sends their condolences to Eric’s family.
